Odor Evaluation

With the acceleration of urbanization and the increasing environmental awareness of residents, odor pollution in indoor environments has become a prominent concern. The main cause of indoor odor pollution is the release of odorous substances from various building materials. However, controlling products solely based on hazardous substance content is unable to effectively address the issue of indoor odor pollution, making sensory evaluation equally important. In recent years, the odor attributes of building materials have gradually gained consumer attention, leading to a growing demand for product odor evaluation and classification.

Currently, the industry faces challenges regarding the precision and reproducibility of odor evaluations for building materials. These issues primarily stem from outdated methodologies, inadequate or incomplete training of odor assessors, and environmental factors.

Since its establishment, the CTC Odor Evaluation Laboratory has maintained close communication and collaboration with domestic and international odor-related laboratories and research institutions. We have cultivated a team of professional odor assessors and possess state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring the precision and reproducibility of odor evaluation experiments.
