The laboratory is equipped with 2 air cannons, 1 5-ton vibration table, a walk-in high-low temperature laboratory, and optical testing equipment. The air cannon can launch projectiles with a maximum mass of 10 kg and a maximum speed of 1,100 km/h. In accordance with national standards and national military standards, the laboratory can provide commissioned testing for aircraft glass and components, as well as rail transit glass and components. These tests include impact resistance against aluminum projectiles, cubes, gravel, and cement balls, bird strike impact, hail impact, ice block impact, wind pressure fatigue resistance, simulated climate environment resistance, vibration and impact resistance, optical performance, and electromagnetic shielding performance.

Over the years, the laboratory has conducted bird strike tests, hail impact tests, hard aluminum projectile, steel projectile, and concrete block impact tests, and tire rubber impact tests for the windshields, composite material outer protective structures of high-speed EMUs (Hexie series, Fuxing series), the windshields and aluminum alloy components of more than ten types of domestic military aircraft, and the glass, fuselage materials, and components of civil aircraft (Y-7, Y12F, MA60, ARJ21, C919, etc.) and helicopters (Z15, Z8, etc.). It possesses extensive testing experience.
