The company's predecessor was the Geological Research Institute of the State Bureau of Building Materials Industry, undertaking tasks such as mineral identification, petrophysical and physicochemical property testing, beneficiation, and comprehensive utilization testing of building materials and non-metallic mineral geological samples nationwide. The company holds national-level CMA and CNAS qualifications. It has developed 30 national primary reference materials covering 12 mineral types. The company operates the following subsidiaries: the Testing Center of the National Geological Engineering Exploration and Research Institute for the Building Materials Industry, and the Building Materials and Home Furnishings Professional Committee of the China Quality Inspection Association.

The company's business scope is closely centered on mineral testing, with extensive experience in testing and technical services. Core services include: purification and evaluation of high-purity quartz raw materials; testing of mineral chemical composition and physical properties; mineral phase analysis, crystal structure analysis, and rock and mineral identification; evaluation of basalt fiber drawing raw materials; scanning electron microscopy and microscopic analysis, and analysis of causes of building diseases; selection of foundry sand, quartz sand for cast steel, and fracturing quartz sand; full-parameter testing of engineering aggregates; testing and certification of pet products such as cat litter; beneficiation tests, beneficiation processes, and tailings development and utilization; asbestos testing and radioactivity testing of raw materials and products; standard formulation and laboratory construction; testing and certification of products such as rainwater heads, water treatment agents, and deicing agents; and water balance testing and evaluation.
