The Subcommittee on Safety Glazing of the National Technical Committee for Automotive Standardization (TC114/SC9) (referred to as the Glass Subcommittee) was established in July 1989. In terms of its operations, it is under the leadership of the Standardization Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People‘s Republic of China, and the National Technical Committee for Automotive Standardization.

The Glass Subcommittee is dedicated to standardization work in the field of automotive glass, including: establishing a domestic automotive glass standards system, supervising and managing the development and revision of standards, and organizing participation in the formulation of international standards and the transformation of international standards, among other tasks. It has made certain contributions to the structural adjustment of products and the improvement of product quality in the automotive glass industry.
